A well trained dog makes for happy owners. Sooner or later, every dog owner realizes the importance of having a well trained dog. Our goal is to help those owners teach their dogs how to be well behaved members of the community through basic obedience training. Training classes offer the rewards of building an enjoyable relationship between dog and owner as well as having the added benefit of socializing with a group of other dogs and people. Classes are held outdoors in order to work dogs around natural distractions. We believe that for dogs to be consistent you need to train them in every scenario possible.

C
lasses are held at the Waggin' Tails Dog Park in Lemoore located in the 19th Ave. Park on 19th Ave. just off hwy 198. Class size is limited and must be paid in full prior to starting. Sign up at Lemoore Parks & Recreation at 435 "C" St.

Please Call (559) 817-9283 to confirm space availability.

If you are not able to make it to the Parks & Rec office to sign up CALL 817-9283 to make other arrangements.

We currently offer 2 levels of Obedience training, Basic and Advanced. Basic Training is for any dog over 12 weeks of age and current on vaccinations who are just beginning formal training. Advanced Training is for dogs who have completed the Basic Training or have equivalent skills. Please read class descriptions for more information.

Our STAR Puppy / Basic Training classes are based on the principals of the American Kennel Club's S.T.A.R. Puppy Program. Every dog starting out in training needs to begin with the basics. Our basic training is for dogs of any age that are just beginning the training process. Dogs up to 1 year of age are also eligible to earn the A.K.C.'s distinguished S.T.A.R. Puppy medal.

During the 6 weeks of basic training we cover commands such as as Sit, Down, Stay, Come, Leave It, and Side. We also cover walking on a leash and discuss ways to resolve common behavioral issues including Housebreaking, Jumping, Nipping, & Chewing to name a few.

S.T.A.R. Puppy testing is NOT included as part of the curriculum but will be held immediately after completion of the 6th class. Those clients interested in STAR Puppy must notify their instructor due to test items being scored through out the 6 weeks of class. Testing fee will be collected at the beginning of the 6th class.

Prerequisites:

at least 12 weeks of age & current on age appropriate vaccinations (Distemper, Parvo, Parainfluenza, & Rabies)
Advanced Training continues your dog's education and works towards earning their Canine Good Citizenship. After laying the foundation of the Basic Training course dogs are ready to build more layers in their repertoire.

The Advanced Training is more challenging to both dogs and owners. The commands and handling becomes more difficult with items such as Heel, Return, Wait, and Park It. We work towards getting off leash while preparing dogs to pass their CGC certification. We also work with all 10 items needed to pass the A.K.C.'s Canine Good Citizen test including Grooming and Appearance, Reaction to other Dogs, Reaction to Distractions, Supervised Separation, and 6 more. Dogs must pass ALL 10 items to earn their Good Citizenship.

C.G.C. testing is NOT included as part of the curriculum but is available immediately after completion of the 6th class.
Testing fee will be collected at the beginning of the 6th class.
